MARCOS ASENSIO is a PhD student in the PhD Programme in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (FA&SS) at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). He has a degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (UPM) (2016-2020) and a master's degree in Psychosocial and Community Intervention at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2020-2022).

He has received two scholarships for collaboration with departments and three scholarships for excellence in academic performance at university degree (Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional, Fundación Caja Ingenieros). Best academic record of his promotion and with the mention of “Distinguished member by the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and Physical Activity and Sport Sciences”. Awarded as the best academic record by the Fundación Caja Ingenieros, and third position in the National Ranking of Graduates with the best academic record in the field of FA&SS, by the Sociedad Española de Excelencia Académica (SEDEA, Spanish Society of Academic Excellence).

His research is focused on the promotion of values through physical activity and sport, mainly on the design and evaluation of addiction prevention programmes through sport from a multicriteria perspective. He has collaborated in research projects such as the Actívate project (ApS-UPM and Proyecto Hombre) and the DXT para la Vida project (I+D+i UPM), in which he is still involved today. Some of the results of his research have been published in the journal Ágora or disseminated in conferences such as the 2nd International Online Congress: For a Real Education, Values and Sport organized by the Real Madrid Foundation, or in lectures at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (UPM).
