Antonio Jiménez-Martín
Professor

Antonio Jiménez is Full Professor of Statistics and Operations Research in the Department of Artificial Intelligence in the School of Computer Science (UPM). He is currently the principal Investigator of the Decision Analysis and Statistics Research Group, a consolidated research group in the UPM from 1994; and Coordinator of the Spanish Group on MultiCriteria Decision Making (MCDM).

He also coordinated the SEIO working-group on MCDM, and the MSc. in Artificial Intelligence (UPM), academic courses 2006/07 to 2020/21, and he was Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence Department (2016-2021).

His main research lines are decision support systems, MCDM, group decision making and negotiation, metaheuristics-based optimization, machine learning, simulation methods, and risk analysis and management.

He obtained the Spanish Royal Academy of Doctors Research Awards 2003 (Experimental and Technological Sciences section), for his PhD. Thesis entitled "Un Sistema de Ayuda a la Decisión Multiatributo con Asignaciones Imprecisas".

He has participated in 7 European projects funded within the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Program and the Cooperation Program INCO-COPERNICUS; in 9 national projects and 4 regional (Comunidad de Madrid and Comunidad de Aragón) both in public competitive calls.

He has published 31 research papers included in JCR (19 in the last 10 years), 22 book chapters (11 in the last 10 years) in international publishers, such as Springer, InTech, MDPI; and 47 proceedings (30 in the last 10 years) in relevant international conferences. He is also co-author of five books focused in Operations Research and Simulation Methods. Best Academic Book Award 2004 by the Fundación General of the UPM.

He has reviewed 39 papers in journals included in the JCR, such as Applied Soft Computing, Computers and Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Group Decision and Negotiation, Knowledge-Based Systems or OMEGA, The International Journal of Management Science; and has acted as reviewer or member of the scientific committee in 33 international conferences. Moreover, he is ember of Editorial Board of "Information" journal and Guest Editor of the Special Issue "Recent Advances and Applications in Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis" in the journal "Mathematics" included in the JCR list (Q1).

He has supervised 5 PhD. Thesis and 31 Master Final Projects.

He is coauthor of two registered software: "GMAA: Generic Multi-Attribute Analysis", registered by the UPM (Spain), and "Codice di calcolo Moira-Plus per la Previsione della Concentrazione di Contaminanti Radiattivi e Metalli Pesanti Presenti in Sistemi Idrici Complessi", registered by L'Ente per le Nuove Tecnologie, l'Energia e l'Ambiente (Italy).

He has participated in 18 industrial projects (in 11 as principal investigator) in the last 10 years with relevant Spanish companies such as ENAIRE, INDRA, INAP, CRIDA, BISIONA or CIEMAT. The total amount funded in the above industrial projects exceeds 330.000 euros.

Finalist of the Cajamadrid Social Investigation Award 2008.

Expert evaluator in R+D+i Project Certifications for European Quality Assurance (EQA) and DNV GL since November 2016. More than 70 evaluations of projects on topics such as: multi-criteria decisions, big data, simulation methods, business intelligence, information systems, operations research and machine learning.
