Alfonso Mateos Caballero

Professor

Alfonso Mateos Caballero holds a degree in Mathematics, a PhD in Computer Science and is full professor of Statistics and Operations Research in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

He is the coordinator and president of the academic planning committee for the degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He is co-editor of two books and editor of the journal Mathematics. He was the principal investigator of the research group “Decision Analysis and Statistics Research Group” and coordinator of the working group of the Spanish Society of Statistics and Operations Research (SEIO). He is founding member of the ALGOVERRIT association to promote Artificial Intelligence as a positive force in society, integrating people and their rights as digital citizens, while promoting collective well-being.

He has four recognized six-year research periods and one of Knowledge transfer and Innovation an six five-year teaching periods recognized.

He has supervised five doctoral thesis and he is currently supervising four doctoral theses. He has been the tutor of one FPI and 5 research contracts.
